We have a brilliant and exciting opportunity to join Findon Garden Centre as Garden Centre Manager.

Our Garden Centre Manager will have strong retail and horticultural knowledge; with a proven track record of delivering retail performance within the garden centre sector.

You will be responsible for management, team development, implementation of stock planning, co-ordination with Directors and to drive sales and footfall.

This manager must show a raw passion for horticulture and customer service, while being financially and commercially competent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operations

    • To ensure all Health and Safety checks are implemented and adhered to.​

    • Workload planning, ensuring the right team members are in the right place at the right time.

    • Achieving deadlines.

    • Ensuring shop retail standards at met and upheld.

    • Driving sales, footfall and standards of our Garden Restaurant.

  • Profitability

    • To ensure the store is managed in a profitable manner.​

    • To drive sales.

    • Having the correct promotions running at the right times.

    • Helping develop our product range.

    • Driving footfall in to store.

  • Training

    • Giving team members a chance to learn new skills and helping grow product knowledge.​

    • Ensuring the team are trained and compliant in Health & Safety and food standards.

  • Colleague Management

    • Distributing colleague deployment and productivity.​

    • Overseeing management & supervisors day-by-day.

    • Payroll & rotas.

    • Overseeing and actioning any HR matters.

    • Ensuring the team are providing the highest level of customer service.

Skills, attributes and experience

  • Horticulture knowledge.

  • Proven management experience in the retail sector, garden centre experience preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in management.

  • Commercial, retail and sales driven.

  • Excellent people skills, with the ability to communicate to all.

  • Excellent problem solving with experience within the industry.

  • Approachable and an excellent listener.

The right candidate will be able to work over weekends(every other or one day each weekend) and bank holidays.

Key holder duties are part of this role (opening and closing store).
